Unter dem Aspekt Upcycling entdeckte ich polnische Überführungskennzeichen auf einem Schrottplatz, deren Recycling aufwendig und umweltschädlich ist. Ihre Typografie und Ästhetik war so faszinierend, dass ich diese Schilder mitnahm. Beim späteren Betrachten assoziierte ich den Aufbau eines Rückenpanzers von Käfern, indem ich die Schilder fächerte.
Durch die leichte Biegung erlangte ich eine Schale, woraus ein Sitz entstand, der einzigartig ist und dem Abfall einen neuen Wert gibt.

The subject “Upcycling” led me to the scrapyard where I discovered these old number plates. Since recycling aluminium is very costly and harmful to the environment I to took them with me. Their aesthetics and typography were fascinating so I decided to work with them. When fanned out, they reminded me of the back part of beetles. This made me think about the back of humans, so I bent them slightly and voila, the made a perfect seat shell.
